Shanae Gulley

Emotional Regulation Therapy in Texas | In-Person Addison & Virtual Sessions at The Balancing Place

Hey, I'm Shanae Gulley!

I’m Shanae, a practicum counseling student, and I specialize in emotional regulation for adults who feel overwhelmed, easily triggered, shut down, or stuck in intense emotional waves. My work is trauma-informed and grounded in the belief that healing happens when you feel safe, supported, and understood. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re feeling, and start responding to emotions with more steadiness and self-compassion.

Many clients come to me during high-stress seasons—caregiving roles, medical experiences, pregnancy or infertility journeys, parenting stress, or the emotional demands of helping professions—when emotions can feel harder to manage and easier to spill over. As a wife and mom of four, I understand how complex balance, burnout, and identity shifts can be, and I strive to meet you with warmth and respect for your lived experience.

My approach integrates trauma-informed care and CBT, including trauma-focused CBT-informed interventions, alongside mindfulness, grounding techniques, and somatic-informed coping strategies. Together, we’ll build practical tools that help you feel more in control, more resilient, and more like yourself—at your pace.

I’m currently a Master’s Student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Practicum) at Grand Canyon University with an emphasis in trauma, and I hold a BA in Psychology from the University of Arizona Global Campus, with minors in Child Development and Sociology.
